Some 103,200 visitors from more than 100 countries visited
this year’s Baselworld, a 2.5 percent jump over the year before, and the
show’s second highest number ever, the fair reported March 31.
“This was one of the best Baselworlds of all times,” show
manager Sylvie Ritter said in a statement.
The show did log fewer American visitors, and noticed a
decline in the number of Japanese and Arab attendees, due to problems in those areas.
It also reported the “strong return” of Russian and eastern European retailers.
The number of accredited journalists at the show set a new
record, with 3,055 media representatives from all over the world reporting on the
event.
