I was just about rejoicing that it’s basically (maybe not quite) spring, when here comes Switzerland-based Bahina Jewels to make me think, “Forget spring, bring on summer!”
The lovely sister duo behind the colorful brand brought my morning to life with this new assortment of bright images, anchored by their natural flower designs (they use real flowers!) and signature multicolor styles. The floral styles are super lightweight even though they’re large (which is perfect, because maximalist earrings are the living end right now), and this is the first time Bahina has used natural daisies in the collection (you’ll also find roses, a favorite, oft-used bloom in their designs).

Daisy earrings in 18k yellow gold with London blue topaz and tanzanite, $3,250
“We combine the flowers with rose-cut gemstones from Jaipur, some hand carvings, and our specialty: the leopard-shell discs, which are usually used in southern Italy to make cameos and intaglios,” says Annick Jordi, creative director and one-half of the Bahina team.
Rainbow necklace in 18k yellow gold with tourmaline, $4,750
Earrings in 18k yellow gold with amazonite, London blue topaz, and aquamarine, $1,950
Also included in the new summer line are styles that make you long for the turquoise waters of some tropical island, a fruity drink in your hand, and Bahina’s jewelry on your person. If you can’t make it to the islands this year, the jewels with either tease the heck out of you or appease your desire for sunshine and warmer climates by colorful distraction.

Necklace in 18k yellow gold with amethyst and iolite, $3,550
Earrings in 18k yellow gold with turquoise, blue topaz, and amethyst, $2,650
If you’re noticing a good deal of purple, that’s no coincidence: “The current trending color—[Pantone’s] Ultra Violet—inspired us to create new designs combining amethyst with other precious and hand-cut stones,” continues Jordi.
A fine selection to take us from these dreary when’s-the-weather-gonna-change days well into summer and beyond. For more, visit bahina.com.
