For the grand opening of Avi & Co.’s boutique in Aspen, Colo., founder and CEO Avi Hiaeve decided that not just one but three days of events were necessary to welcome jewelry and watch lovers and show off his latest retail space.
The Aspen store, at 602 E. Cooper Ave., opened on Feb. 14—an auspicious day for a store devoted to luxury timepieces and fine jewelry, Hiaeve says. Preview and VIP events were held the day before, and a pop-up at a local resort continued through Feb. 15.
“We are thrilled to open our doors in Aspen and introduce Avi & Co.’s world-class collection to this extraordinary destination,” says Hiaeve, whose company also has boutiques in New York City and Miami. “Aspen’s vibrant social scene, luxury culture, and discerning clientele make it the perfect place for us to expand and grow our community.”

Interior design of the new boutique combines Colorado-inspired decor with Avi & Co.’s sophistication, Hiaeve says. Bronze accents frame the glass display cases, while warm neutral tones that reflect the beauty of Aspen’s environment ground the space. Stone-topped tables and plush chairs make the store a comfortable place for collectors to come in, look at new pieces, and talk shop, he adds.
The grand-opening extravaganza started on Feb. 13 with a cocktail preview of selections curated for Aspen shoppers, including watches by Richard Mille, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Rolex, and Avi & Co.’s signature diamond and gemstone jewelry. That night, VIP guests attended a dinner, with music and dancing, at the private members’ club of Casa Tua restaurant.

On Feb. 14, the ribbon cutting was held. Hiave spoke at the ceremony, then kept the party going with food, bringing in sushi from Aspen favorite Matsuhisa. Attendees included some of Avi & Co.’s regular collectors and jewelry lovers of all ages, he says.
From Feb. 13 to 15, Avi & Co. hosted a pop-up at the St. Regis Aspen that was open to the public. The shop, set up inside the resort’s Highlands Room with a winter wonderland theme, featured coveted timepieces from Hiaeve’s favorite brands for hotel guests and visitors to examine.
At the St. Regis, three glass cases of jewelry and watches offered a look at the type of products Avi & Co. has at its downtown Aspen boutique. The pop-up was furnished with two seating areas where people could sit and mingle amid decor of white-frosted pine trees, duplicating the look of the snowy outdoors.
Each Avi & Co. store has a flair that speaks to its location, Hiaeve says, with a bit of an industrial feel in New York and a lighter, bright aesthetic in the Miami boutique.
