The organizers of Amberif, the Polish annual jewelry fair, announce the imminent January 31 deadline for Elektronos’ 2003, the seventh international annual design competition for amber jewelry.
Entries must be either a rendering or a photograph of a finished piece of jewelry whose central design focus is amber. The contest theme is “Symbols of Love.” Any other material may be used, as long as the main design theme is amber and the piece embodies the contest theme. Entries must be presented on a 30 cm by 30 cm card, with any explanatory text written in English, a six-digit identification code of the designer’s choosing inscribed in the lower right corner, and accompanied by the registration form. Registration forms are available online at http://www.amberif.pl. No signature or other identifying marks of the designer should be on the entry itself.
Any designer or manufacturer of jewelry may enter, along with his or her design team. Team members, however, may not enter separately if they’re entering as part of a design team.
The main prize will be $2,300 and there will be trophies in two distinctions: one 2 kg of amber, one 3 kg of silver.
For information or to submit an entry, contact Gdansk International Fair, 5 Beniowskiego Street, 80-382 Gdansk, Poland. Tel.: +48 58 55 49 134. Entry form and information is available online at www.amberif.pl.; e-mail: pl amberif@mtgsa.com.pl.
