Sergey Pavlenko (pictured), who has served as chief engineer at Alrosa’s mining operations in the Russian city of Udachny for the past seven years, will be heading the overall Udachny division.
He replaces Roman Deniskin, who has headed the division since 2019 and is stepping down with the expiration of his contract.
Located in the Mirninsky district in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia, the Udachny division comprises the Udachnaya Pipe, the Zarnitsa Pipe, and the Verkhne-Munskoye deposit. The division recovered 5 million cts. of diamonds last year.
Pavlenko, born in Udachny, joined Alrosa’s mining operations in 2000 after earning a degree from the Moscow State Mining University. He started as a metalworking and repair specialist. In 2010, he was named chief engineer of the Udachny maintenance department, and in 2014, he was named chief engineer of the overall Udachny division.
