Former Yankee Candle head Harlan Kent was company president for a year
Harlan Kent, the veteran retail executive who served as president of Alex and Ani for the last year, has stepped down, according to GoLocalProv.
The company did not return a request for comment, but Kent’s profile is no longer listed on its site.
The move is the latest sign of turmoil in the charm brand’s executive suite. Following the resignation of CEO Giovanni Feroce in May 2014, founder Carolyn Rafaelian took over the top job, originally on a temporary basis. Instead, she’s remained in the top job, and brought in Kent—a marketer and retail executive who formerly headed Yankee Candle—as president 10 months later.
According to GoLocalProv.com, quoting a memo from Rafaelian, the company is now looking for a chief operating officer.
