The summer and fall show calendar is shaping up to be a busy one.
After canceling its 2021 February gem show in Tucson, the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) said it plans to stage two gem shows later this year.
The AGTA GemFair Las Vegas show will take place August 24–26 at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, around the same time as the rescheduled JCK Show. Like the JCK Show, GemFair Las Vegas was originally scheduled for June.
The Encore at Wynn Las Vegas will also house the Couture Show and the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show, which will take place at the same time. AGTA will honor badges for those shows.
“After such a hectic year, it was important to AGTA to provide a safe marketplace for our businesses,” said Ruben Bindra, AGTA president, in a statement. “We will work closely with Encore Resort and local health officials to make sure all safety protocols are in place for the show.”
Attendees and exhibitors can register at the AGTA website.
The second of the group’s shows will be new. The AGTA will mount its first GemFair in Denver, Sept. 18–21, in conjunction with the Hard Rock Summit, an annual event for rock and gemstone enthusiasts. The GemFair will be part of Sparkle & Joy, a new section of the Summit dedicated to fine gemstones and better jewelry.
In AGTA’s statement, the group’s CEO, Douglas K. Hucker, said that the new show is “in a beautiful location, and the timing is perfect for stocking up for the holiday season.”
AGTA said it will release more details on the Denver show when they’re available.
The organization plans to hold the next scheduled AGTA GemFair Tucson at its standard time, Feb. 1–6, 2022.
JCK Las Vegas is owned by Reed Exhibitions, which also owns JCKonline.
