Michael Richards (pictured), vice president of Underwood Jewelers, has been elected president of the American Gem Society (AGS).
He will head the group for the next two years. He takes over from John Carter, who just completed his two-year term.
Alexis Padis of Padis Jewelry was elected secretary; Larry Rickert of Jim Kryshak Jewelers was elected treasurer; and Georgie Gleim of Gleim the Jeweler was chosen as senior advisor.
Lisa Bridge, chief executive officer of Ben Bridge Jewelers, was chosen as president-elect, which means she will take over in 2022.
The group’s president is traditionally chosen as its annual Conclave. However, due to the cancellation of Conclave 2020, the membership voted electronically, as outlined in the AGS bylaws.
Also joining the AGS board of directors this year: Ryan Berg, Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry; Sarin Bachmann, JCK Events; and Sarah Nanasi Russell of Nanasi Enterprises.
