Hailing from Germany, award-winning jewelry designer Erich Zimmerman is new this year to JCK’s German pavilion. His designs evoke the essence of a metalsmith at work: Airy, graceful looks are the specialty, many of them housing exquisite gemstones. Others, like the lightweight Cocoon earrings, below, are left unadorned, with silky metal texture and carved, curvy shapes. Whimsical pieces like strawberry lockets (below, second from bottom) and skull-centric rings appeal to the fun, edgier side, though I think many—if not all—of these jewels would appeal to any taste. Zimmerman will no doubt be a stop on my route through the JCK Las Vegas show floor—you should definitely make it one of yours. Here are just a few pieces to tempt you.
