If you’re still in the market for color—and why not?—here’s a boisterous fashion collection perfect for late summer into fall.
From 51 E John, a New York City brand named after the location of its origins—the University of Illinois—the Good Trip collection is an art deco–meets-hallucinogen exploration of color and illusion. It reminds me quite a bit of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette: regal yet alternative, stately yet electrically loud. It’s like mixing classical music with noise pop, to the beat of a wildly good time.
The pieces, which are made in sterling silver and feature multicolor crystals, display the journey between two colors, which is marked by a series of more than 10 changes in hue. The brand’s website describes the collection as a “joyous and delighted visual experience,” quite an apt way to put it.
While the line is certainly a rainbow of color, it won’t be relegated to storage once summer passes through. Autumn’s attire will thrive with this splash of playful color, and the art deco angle adds that bit of formal fun for fall.
The Fall/Winter 2021 collection is available for purchase on the brand’s website and through its retailers now.
