5 Special Sapphire Jewels for September

Share

Can you feel that? The first hints of fall are in the air. Whether or not you like to see summer wind down, September always brings at least one great thing: a spotlight on sapphires.

September’s birthstone, sapphire, is incredibly versatile—a favorite of many gemstone fans. It’s most often associated with a rich blue shade, but comes in a variety of colors: pink, purple, yellow, and more.

Not only visually captivating, sapphires also carry a deep historical and cultural significance. They have graced the heads, fingers, wrists, and necks of royals, and been cherished as symbols of loyalty, trust, and sincerity.

Further, sapphires are praised for their durability. They rank just below diamonds on the Mohs scale of hardness, so they’re sturdy enough for everyday wear—though, of course, their beauty and elegance make them ideal for special occasions.

The five pieces of jewelry below put blue sapphires center stage. Round or pear-shape, set in gold or platinum, embellished with diamonds or the only precious gem in the jewel—sapphires are always a great gift, for September babies and anyone else.
