5 Jewelry-Related Songs You Should Have on Your JCK Las Vegas Playlist

With JCK Las Vegas fast approaching, you might be in need of some appropriate travel music. I dug through my iTunes library and picked out my five favorite songs that included a reference to jewelry.

“Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes”

Further proof Paul Simon is a lyrical genius:

She was physically forgotten/Then she slipped into my pocket/With my car keys/She said you’ve taken me for granted/Because I please you/Wearing these diamonds

This jam will be in my head everytime I walk the show floor.

“After the Gold Rush”

Senior editor Rob Bates used this Neil Young song as a headline for a story on jewelry reactions to falling gold prices recently, so I had to include it in this post.

“Gold”

My favorite song from the movie and Broadway show Once.

“Baubles, Bangles and Beads”

You can’t have a Las Vegas playlist without a Frank Sinatra song.

“A String Of Pearls”

I defy you to come up with a more perfect song that combines jewelry and music.

Jewelry Industry Picks

I did some crowdsourcing on social media to see what jewelry-related tunes are on the industry’s playlist. On Facebook, songs included Kenny Rogers’ “Ruby,” Janice Joplin’s “Pearl” album, Shirley Bassey’s “Diamonds Are Forever,” and Linda Ronstadt’s “Silver Threads and Golden Needles.”

Here are some musical selections from our Twitter followers:
