Kate Hudson is no stranger to the universe of fine jewelry. With several decades of red carpet appearances, press events, and A-list film roles, she’s donned some of the world’s finest jewels (remember the exceptional 80 carat yellow diamond Isadora necklace by Harry Winston her character wore in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days?). And now, the Oscar-nominated actress has curated her favorite jewelry (as well as furniture, fine art, and fashion pieces) for an auction on online marketplace 1stDibs.
“I’m such a fan of 1stDibs auctions! They have such unique, curated pieces that range from expensive to affordable. You never know what you might find, and you might find it for a great price,” Hudson said in a press release. “I love that it’s a very creative place to shop, with so many different styles. I could spend hours looking at the most beautiful furniture, whether new or antique, from incredible designers or people that I may not have heard of but get to discover. There’s something for everyone—every style and mood.”
“We’re huge fans of Kate on so many levels—she is genuine, warm, and approachable despite being Hollywood royalty. She mixes celebrity glamour with her ‘real life’ in a way that is unselfconscious, and brims with love and humor. She’s as obsessed with design as we are, which is saying a lot,” 1stDibs chief marketing officer, Nancy Hood, tells JCK. “Kate’s home, art collection, jewelry box, and closet perfectly illustrate the delight in surrounding ourselves with things that we love and that work with the way we live.”
The curation includes pieces such as Wendy Brandes’ Cleopatra snake chandelier earrings that Kim Cattrall’s Samantha famously wore in the Sex and the City 2 film (shown below), as well as lesser-known but still notable pieces—namely an 18k yellow gold rope chain bracelet (also shown below). The auction continues through June 1.
