Each month from now until JCK Las Vegas 2013, subjects from the 12 Jewelry Trends for 2013 will be highlighted on my Style 360 blog—an editorial first look at new collections worldwide and expert market analysis on jewelry styles, launches, and trends—as well as on the On Your Market blog by my colleague Brittany Siminitz, manager of JCK Marketplace, that expansive online showroom of gorgeous merchandise sold within the JCK shows.
My 12 Jewelry Trends for 2013 post has been live for more than a month, dovetailing with the launch the 2013 show season, meaning that predictions and collections are now colliding in the market. And since I’m working the AGTA Tucson GemFair 2013 this week, my perch is a perfect opportunity to see whether dealers and designers are offering drusy in their inventory. Well, they are (though not as much as some, including Steven Berkowitz, president of Sterling Reputation in Hollwyood, Fla., expected)! Robert Bentley, typically a purveyor of strictly juicy-looking strands of tourmaline, aquamarine, and more, had trays of them in his booth, a stark contrast to his regular inventory; and some of the finished designs also on the show floor—Misha of N.Y.—featured them as well.
Here’s a peek at the some of the pieces available for purchase now, and stay tuned as the year progresses and more collections are unveiled.
