While perusing celebrity photos taken during the month of June—my favorite of which are posted below—two things became clear: Great modern style includes (and maybe even requires) bold, innovative jewelry designs.
And, secondly, the earring is still the go-to jewelry piece for stylists and self-styling celebs. For now, that is.
Necklaces, particularly bibs and other styles that take up lots of clavicle real estate, are also catching on big-time. The blinding Messika diamond bib Beyoncé wears in her new “Apes**t” video (below) makes a convincing case for necklaces with scarf-like proportions. As does the sparkling Lorraine Schwartz collar model Candice Huffine wore (also below) to the CFDA Awards earlier this month.
