14 cts. of striking beauty
Under no circumstances will I ever tire of a good sapphire, and whoa, baby do I have a good sapphire for you today. Fourteen carats of deep, velvety blue, posing in the most dramatically perfect setting that results in what I can refer to only as gothic chic. Bayco‘s blackened gold ring is puncuated with pointed, spear-like prongs adorned in smaller round sapphires, gripping all four sides of the emerald-cut center stone. Underneath, round diamonds glitter in a contrasting, sparkling show. The ring’s delicate band—the most suitable choice to support this top-heavy (in a good way!) design, in my opinion—is also lined in sapphires, so not a portion of its surface goes untouched. Sometimes less is more, and I think Bayco strikes the perfect balance here, with just the right amount of detailing. As if any amount of detail could take your eyes away from that center stone, anyway.
Emerald-cut ring in 18k black gold with a 14 ct. Ceylon sapphire, $200,000
