A new technique makes this bracelet groundbreakingly gorgeous
I thought Yael‘s Sentience bracelet was amazing even before I learned its creation story. You can’t deny its sensational aesthetic—a dark blue island swimming in sea of crystal blue, surrounded by waves of glowing moonstones and shimmering diamonds. The bracelet itself is a big look—to say nothing of its amazing centerpiece—in 18k white gold with a generous width of crisscrossing lines that flow into one another. The one-of-a-kind piece is, of course, causing a stir for what you see in the middle: a special-cut tanzanite, set inside a 26 ct. aquamarine, in a way that appears totally seamless. The gemstones, crafted with the help of gem cutter Glenn Lehrer, are held together by tiny platinum wires, while their cuts create a mirror effect that yields a totally invisible setting. It’s a pretty cool sight to behold, and one that I bet will have lots of admirers wondering “how on earth did they do that?!?” And there’s more great news: This is the first in an upcoming collection of jewelry using this technique—one that I, for one, am incredibly anxious to see up close (and perhaps even try on!). I’ll be making my traditional first stop of the LUXURY show to see my pal Yehouda at the Yael Designs booth in Las Vegas this year. Prepare your Instagram feeds for beauty and wonderment!
