Royalty Revisited: Katerina Maxine Jewels Reflect Old World Russian Grandeur

Katherine Semyonov of New-York-based Katerina Maxine
recently launched the Lace collection of jewels inspired by her Russian family
history, including a great, great grandmother who was a duchess. Mother Irina
and father Maxim emigrated with their daughter to the U.S. in 1989, bringing
with them the skills and desire to create heirloom-quality jewels that rival
those of centuries-old jewelry houses. Pieces feature gold-backed silver, Big Three gemstones, old mine-cut diamonds, and
pink gold undersides, all “very Russian” influences, according to Semyonov. Retail prices begin at $4,800, though moving forward, she’ll add amethyst and garnets to the mix for even more
accessible price points; existing line SKUs currently total 20. Look for more this summer at LUXURY Privé New York, July 25–27 at the
Pierre Hotel in New York City (Katerina Maxine will not be exhibiting during
Jewelry Week in Las Vegas).
