Elizabeth Taylor submitted several entries she personally designed into the Jewelers Choice Awards a couple of years ago.
I know because I was the sales assistant who opened up the FedEx envelope that contained handwritten drawings and notes explaining her pieces. It was pretty heavy stuff for a kid just out of college to be reading something from the hands of a Hollywood legend.
It didn’t take me that long to realize what kind of spiritual—and for a long time, business—presence Taylor had in the jewelry industry. The outpouring of comments and hits our website received after the announcement she had died was uncanny.
