Now that Classic Blue has officially been named Pantone’s 2020 Color of the Year, the hue is certain to spur many designers and jewelry houses to reach for the lapis lazuli and sapphires in their inventory (or shop for these stones like mad at JCK Tucson 2020 and other gem fairs).
But the team at luxury American jeweler David Webb had only to look inside its vault for a nanosecond to unearth an absolute tidal wave of gorgeous statement pieces featuring lapis lazuli in all of its rough-hewn, carved, and fluted glory or enormous Ceylon sapphires or incredibly rich pairings of blue enamel with polished gold.
And having spent some time in the David Webb archives during NYC Jewelry Week, we can tell you that there’s more where that came from.
