Bold gold is tickling everyone’s fancy as of late, and if you saw the Nov./Dec. cover of JCK magazine (one of my favorites by far, it’s so wonderfully festive and delicious), you’ll have noticed a fantastic range of styles to appease all lovers of gold. Between the cover and our featured photo spread, it’s a veritable feast of beautiful jewelry (not to mention the juicy fruits it’s complemented by).

I have recently found myself most drawn to the chunky signet-style rings, and what’s so wonderful about those is there really is a take to please every shopper. If you want vintage, there are loads of those, and the thrill of the hunt may lead customers to acquiring some very notable pieces. There are custom signets with initials and symbols, you’ve got your diamonds, your gemstones, or just a simple, smooth, luscious polished gold. A signet ring or a piece similar in style or shape would make a lovely gift (or self gift) for the holidays, and the variety on the market provides ample opportunity to please.

From the Beirut-based jeweler Nada G, the Power of Light collection features an especially good line of ample gold rings, these with a festive, starry twist. The collection is a year old (it was released last year just in time for the holidays), but it’s still bright and shiny as we step into another season of gifting.

Power of Light was created in partnership with the Sursock Museum, a contemporary art museum in Beirut. The collection’s inspiration helms from the museum itself, mimicking the establishment’s windows, which were based on the lotus flower.

Its floral origins give the collection the versatility to stay in bloom year-round, though with an eye toward the holidays I see a starlit ornament, like something that shines brightly at the top of a Christmas tree. How could you not just look at this piece and smile, feeling a sense of warmth and excitement for all that the season may possibly bring?

While I am currently most drawn to the version adorned with rubies and pink sapphires—like a blooming poinsettia—alternate versions are available, varying in stones, sizes, and even some with a negative space aspect (there are earrings, too!).
