Gabriella Forte has been named the CEO of David Yurman, a spokesperson confirmed to JCK today.
Forte is a longtime board member of the design company, WWD reports, though, as David Yurman is a privately held company, the length of her tenure is unformed. She is a luxury and fashion industry veteran. She started her career at Giorgio Armani, where she spent 15 years, and rose to executive vice president. She has also held top positions with several luxury brands, including chief operating officer and president of Calvin Klein and president of Dolce & Gabbana. She also had a brief foray into e-commerce as the CEO of Ibeauty.com.
David Yurman, who founded the company with his wife Sybil Yurman in 1980, has been holding in the position since February 2014, when Glen Senk stepped down after serving as CEO for two years.
“We have long wanted Gabriella in this role,” David Yurman told WWD. “She has a deep understanding of our brand and has provided valuable insights and sage counsel through her advisory board position for many years. Her extensive luxury retail experience in the U.S. and internationally is unmatched in the industry, making her the ideal partner to help us continue to grow our global footprint.”
