Event planner for celebrations big and small David Tutera is dipping his toe into the jewelry-design arena with a new partnership with Fuzion Creations.
The Brooklyn, N.Y.–based jewelry manufacturer will preview the David Tutera jewelry collection at JCK Las Vegas at booth no. B3850. Terms of the arrangement are that of a licensing deal created by the two parties’ respective licensing agencies, the Brand Liaison and Brandgenuity.
An impressive 400 SKUS exist collection-wide, with more than 1,000 variations. All pieces are made in 10k, 14k, and 18k white, yellow, and rose gold as well as in sterling silver. Featured stones include diamonds, pearls, blue topaz, morganite, created sapphire, and created emerald.
Initially, the idea was to just make commitment rings—of which there are a number—but eventually other styles joined the mix. Plus, there was Fuzion’s desire to add “elements not normally seen in a bridal line to satisfy a broader bridal consumer,” according to Moses Maya, head of product development. For example, morganite in rose gold “has played a strong role this year in our fashion collections, and we are starting to carry it over to bridal,” he adds.
Tutera told the press in a statement that the “designs combine current fashion jewelry trends with real gold and sterling silver and an array of beautiful gemstones—all at affordable price points.” Meanwhile, Maney Douek, president of Fuzion, explained that his company’s goal was to channel Tutera’s creativity and design talents in “a special line of jewelry inspired by his incredible sense of style.”
Retail prices in 10k gold start at $199, and in silver they start at $80. The collection ships to stores in August, and the buy-in for silver is $1,000, while the buy-in for 10k gold is $3,000. A countertop display program for independent retailers is also in the works.
