Influential Brooklyn, N.Y., fine jewelry store Catbird has partnered with in-demand Hollywood stylist Leith Clark—who dresses cool-girl idols Zoe Kazan, Saoirse Ronan, and Lucy Boynton, among others—on an ethereal-feeling jewelry capsule collection.
Catbird co–creative directors Rony Vardi and Leigh Plessner approached the stylist to create the small series of delicate jewelry—and wrote on Catbird’s Instagram feed, “We’re longtime admirers of @leithclark‘s thoughtful work and world—now Violet, and way-back-when Lula magazines, were such wellsprings of inspiration [referring to the two magazines Clark founded]. What a joy it was to step inside her universe, and build a new #leithclarkxcatbird world together.”
Prices range from $154 for small 14k gold charms—including the wonderful Peaceful Girl With Fist charm (see below)—to $940 for a moonstone-and-diamond ring featuring a trio of stars with a diamond set under the dome of a moonstone (also see below).
The relatively accessible price points reflect a desire on the part of Catbird to reach Clark’s young-and-stylish fans, who may not yet have deep pockets, but who nudge the fashion needle forward on social media and in the flesh.
A few of the more creative pieces in the capsule include an ear climber that looks like a real piece of knotted grosgrain, inspired by the Suffragette ribbon ($178); and the delicate-feeling Unicorn Horseshoe necklace, which is studded with cabochon-cut opals and pearls ($548). Every piece in the collection is fabricated in Catbird’s Brooklyn atelier using recycled gold and diamonds. To celebrate the pro-woman collab, the Brooklyn retailer has made a $10,000 donation to Planned Parenthood of New York City.
Clark styled the lush, Victorian-inspired campaign for the collection, which was shot by photographer Julia Hetta in London and features appropriately ethereal-looking model Lily Nova (see her at top).
