Fashion jewelry brand Alexis Bittar, which made its smashing JCK Las Vegas debut last week, has debuted a small-but-creative collection inspired by Pride Month.
Pride Month celebrates the LGBTQ community: It always happens in June to honor the Stonewall riots in Manhattan, which began on June 28, 1969. The 30 days of vibrant, often colorful events and initiatives that happen around the country culminates in the show-stopping New York City Pride March/Parade, scheduled for June 30 this year.
The brand is donating a portion of the proceeds from its Pride-inspired collection to The Center, an organization that serves the LGBTQ communities of New York City.
The brand’s origins are steeped in NYC’s LGBTQ community: Founder Alexis Bittar, who is no longer involved in the company, was a downtown NYC club kid—part of the booming gay nightlife scene in the 1990s—before launching his own line of colorful, accessible jewelry.
Alexis Bittar the brand is famous for its handmade Lucite jewelry and has corralled several of its existing brightly colored Lucite styles into this new collection. But here are the styles that most overtly speak to the Pride theme:
