A visit to Omi Privé is a must each year at JCK Las Vegas—Luxury by JCK, more specifically—and I’m very much looking forward to doing just that in a few weeks. In 2018, I “visited” digitally, as I was on maternity leave, so I’ve been eagerly waiting for this year’s show to finally dress my fingers in the jeweler’s colorful selection of insanely luxe pieces. I have a feeling it’ll have been worth the wait.
“A big focus for JCK this year is unique color combinations, such as spinels with unique garnets, purple sapphires and Paraibas, tanzanite, and morganite,” says Niveet Nagpal, head designer and president of Omi Privé. “We will be featuring new designs using paraiba-type tourmaline and moonstone in particular.”
I just got a look at some of the latest jewels that will be on display at the California-based jeweler’s showcase this year, and I’m already picking favorites. An insane moonstone piece, with superhero-like shield-cut aquamarine sides (pictured at top), is one of my most anticipated try-ons. There’s also an amazing color combination of purple sapphire and Paraiba, like a cotton-candy unicorn, that gives me such good feelings.
So why should you also visit Omi Privé in Vegas, aside from the obvious (really, you need more evidence than these?). “This year we plan to make our booth an experience, both for established clients and new visitors to Omi,” says Nagpal. “We will be highlighting the path of a gemstone, from mine to finished Omi Privé piece.”
I, for one, am very much looking forward to making a beeline for Team Omi upon my arrival in Vegas—if the time change and airplane hair are dragging me down, trying on a few of these jewels will certainly be a worthy pick-me-up.
