Six-year-old Arik Kastan is helmed by a duo who loves vintage styling. Designer Arik Kastan and creative director Tamar Kelman operate between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv, Israel, making Victorianesque pieces with “a modern edge and classic vintage-inspired motifs, eastern architectural forms, and nature-inspired, floral elements,” Kastan explains. Kastan has been designing fine jewelry for 37 years, apprenticing with a goldsmith at age 14 and then making jewelry for boutiques in Paris in the late 1970s. Kastan honed his skills through decades of bench work and now hand-makes all jewels from concept to carving to finished piece in Israel. His vintage signature style also features a custom 14k rose gold alloy—“warm, rich, and intended to be true to the vintage aesthetic of the line,” he says—as well as padlocks that double as clasps. Gems of choice include hand-cut moonstones, labradorites, turquoise, garnets, and more.
