I’ve just booked my ticket to Las Vegas (have you gotten yours yet?), and so I’m already planning my days at the JCK show.
I’m so excited to see the show in its new home at the Sands and Venetian (well, it’s new to me—JCK Las Vegas used to take place there just before I came on board, so I’ve only ever known its Mandalay Bay days). But even for those who can count more years at the show, 2019 will surely be an all-new experience.
So while I’m thrilled for that, I’m also getting ready to rocket myself like a hyperactive bouncy ball from booth to booth, making up for lost time from last year (I missed JCK’s final year at Mandalay Bay, as I was on maternity leave). There are a lot of new-to-JCK (and to me) exhibitors that I can’t wait to meet.
But first things first: Yael Designs. In the eight years that I’ve been doing JCK, the California jeweler is always my first stop, and so there’s almost a sense of nostalgia that I feel for the brand when I start making my Vegas plans—it’s tradition.
I know to expect showcases filled with pretty finds to play with—there always are—but as we approach the end of March, I’m zoned in on this serene aquamarine ring, one of my favorite settings featuring this month’s birthstone.
A trio of emerald-cut aquamarines is outlined in diamonds, a style that I can envision nestling along my finger quite nicely—the three-stone setting looks to wrap one’s digit in a snuggly warm hug.
So much attention has been turned to emerald-cut rings, thanks to Jennifer Lopez, so this piece fulfills the current need to see more of that, too. And actually, I like this aquamarine edition as an engagement ring. The more I look at it, the more I’m starting to kind of obsess over that idea. Retailers, sell this to someone as an engagement ring, okay?
