High glam (long may Lupita reign!) at the 68th annual French film fest
When it’s your first trip to Cannes, why go subtle? Case in point: Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, in a jade-green Gucci gown with crystals, silk flowers, and an enormous skirt that swirled into paparazzi-perfect waves. Longtime festival sponsor Chopard provided her multihued jewels, including stacked amethyst and aquamarine rings and slender gemstone drops. The colorful couture continued at the Youth premiere, where Rachel Weisz stunned in a cyan satin Prada gown. To complement the oceanic shade, she chose jewels from Chaumet’s light-and-water–inspired Lumières d’Eau collection. Meanwhile, color-loving actress Mindy Kaling went bold and bright at the Inside Out premiere in a custom two-piece design from Salvador Pérez, the man behind her covetable wardrobe on The Mindy Project, and L’Dezen by Payal Shah diamond drops. You’d never guess this was her first Cannes.
