Jewelry industry nonprofit Jewelers for Children announced today that its seventh annual Rings of Strength charity race will relocate to the Venetian Resort hotel—to echo this year’s move of the JCK show to the Sands Expo Center.
The beloved fund-raiser, sponsored by JCK Events (the lead sponsor), Ashi Diamonds, Asurion, Freeman, and CMAC, will include its usual options: a bike ride in the beautiful foothills of Red Rock Canyon, a 5K walk or run, or early-morning yoga.
The event will kick off on May 30 at 5:30 a.m. at the Venetian (before the Vegas heat creeps in), and routes will feature hydration stations along the way.
All funds raised in the Rings of Strength event benefit Jewelers for Children’s charity partners, which include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Make-A-Wish America, and the National CASA Association.
Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry with the mission of helping children in need. Since its inception, it has donated more than $55 million to programs benefiting children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse, or neglect.
The nonprofit has also donated on an ad hoc basis over the years. In 2013, it made a $25,000 donation to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut following the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. In 2010, the organization donated $25,000 to Save the Children for relief efforts in Japan following the devastating earthquake and tsunami. And in 2005, Jewelers for Children donated $250,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts in the Gulf region of the U.S. following Hurricane Katrina.
