Kendra Scott Drops New Charm Collection for Its Color Bar

Kendra Scott, the Austin, Texas-based jewelry brand that operates over 80 standalone locations in the U.S. and was recently valued at $1 billion, has debuted a charm collection for its signature Color Bar.

The brand’s Color Bar feature, which Scott introduced in 2009, offers shoppers the opportunity to design their own jewelry using a range of stones and jewelry styles. The feature’s been a growth vehicle for the brand since its debut.

The Kendra Scott Charms Collection, which launches tomorrow (Sept. 26) as an extension of the Color Bar, features just over 300 charms in six different groupings: Me from A-Z (letter charms), Let’s Celebrate (birthstone colors), Looking to the Stars (zodiac symbols), The Power of Stones (healing stones), You Do Good (philanthropic motifs), and Tell Your Story (storytelling symbols).

The collection also debuts new jewelry pieces made expressly for the charms.

The charms are designed to be paired with new necklaces, bracelets, and earrings designed specifically for the collection.

Designer Kendra Scott, who founded her company in 2002, said in a prepared statement that the new collection, “Empowers people to express their unique style and tell their own personal stories in the form of charms—allowing each person to be their own storyteller.”

And a handful of the charms even give back. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the “You Do Good” charms benefit eight entities—several of them cancer nonprofits: Children’s Miracle Network, Ronald McDonald House, HeartGift Foundation, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, MD Anderson Cancer Center, women studying design and entrepreneurship at UT, and Inheritance of Hope.

Kendra Scott’s legacy of philanthropy is extensive. Since 2002, the company has given back over $25 million to local, national, and international causes. And in 2017 alone, the company gave $4.7 million in monetary donations, over 10 million dollars in in-kind donations, and over 2,000 volunteer hours to philanthropic organizations.

The brand bowed its first standalone store in New York City earlier this month.
