The diamond is the largest find to date from its Lulo mine in Angola
Lucapa Diamond Company, the Australian diamond producer, has recovered a 133.4 ct. diamond from its Lulo diamond mine in Angola.
The recovery came from a new excavation area. Within the first few days of processing, the area yielded the 133.4 ct. diamond (pictured, left) and three other diamonds of 29.2 ct. (pictured, middle) 12.37 ct., and 11.1 ct. (pictured, right).
The diamond breaks the record for the largest stone recovered from the mine. The previous largest was a 131.4 ct. diamond recovered in 2012.
The company says the diamond is not of high quality, but suggests the potential of the deposit.
