By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be a few days in to my annual family vacation on Block Island. But don’t worry, I’ve taken my jewelry daydreams along for the ride. You’d think I’d be craving lobster jewels, considering my colleague Emili Vesilind’s delightful edit, and the abundance of fresh seafood up in here, but no, the object of my affection at this precise moment is….strawberries. Strawberries and cream, actually.
Because Wimbledon.
This tennis tournament’s been on in the background during every Block Island summer I can remember, even with crummy reception on an equally crummy black-and-white TV set during the Stefan Edberg/Martina Navratilova days. Word on the street is that the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex, both big tennis fans (the latter enjoys a close friendship with Serena Williams) are planning to attend Wimbledon together.
Assuming there’s room in the box for me to join them, this is what I’m wearing.
Okay, fine, I’ll be in my pajamas like I usually am. But who says you can’t have strawberries for breakfast? And forget the coffee—jewels this juicy call for Champagne!
