If you’re giving jewelry as a Father’s Day gift, there are a few classic options: a wristwatch or cufflinks followed by a signet ring or one set with a supersize gemstone. But there’s something else to consider, a new staple for men who wear jewelry: the stackable beaded bracelet.
As JCK’s Emili Vesilind posited last week: The question of whether to bead or not to bead can be answered by the types of high-profile men who have been photographed wearing beaded, leather-strung bracelet stacks: Prince Harry, for one, plus Jay-Z and just about every other rocker/troubadour you can think of.
But can the dad in your life pull them off?
Matt Conable, cofounder and lead designer of the Portland, Ore.–based jewelry brand William Henry, thinks so. “Men are hard to shop for, but more men are wearing jewelry and exploring it as part of personal style than ever before,” he says.
Eight “bold but refined” beaded bracelets, a top-selling category for the brand, lead Embrace, the collection Conable and his team unveiled at JCK Las Vegas. “They’re pieces that can be worn with denim, a bespoke suit, on a hike, or at a fine restaurant,” says Conable. “They work across a life, not just in one segment and that appeals to men—stuff that’s timeless, unique but not trendy and that makes sense as a constant companion.”

Designed with intricate cage-like metal detailing to highlight and accentuate the polished and textured gemstone elements, each bracelet is intended to be as varied and distinctive as the personal style of the men who wear them.
After the team’s trip to the Tucson gems shows earlier this year, a kaleidoscope of new materials have been worked into the line, including jade, South Sea pearls, labradorite, carnelian, turquoise, and lapis lazuli.
Comprising 16 pieces in total, the Embrace collection also features a handful of pendants and the line’s signature cufflinks.
