JIS Miami Introduces New Education Series

The Miami show runs April 9–11

For the first time as part of the industry-leading Reed Jewelry Group, JIS Miami April will open its doors April 9, 2016. The event, dedicated to the Latin American, Caribbean, United States, and Canadian jewelry markets, is being held at the Miami Beach Convention Center April 9–11.

JIS Miami April will also feature the first-ever JIS Education Series, two full days of complimentary education, featuring a lineup of speakers dedicated to driving business forward in the modern world. Speakers include Becky Arreaga of Mercury Mambo, presenting on how to capture young, affluent, and multicultural shoppers; Steve Casco of CardNotPresent.com on accepting payments, optimizing costs, and controlling fraud; Ben Smithee of Luxe Intelligence on how to succeed in today’s digital world; Shane Decker of Ex-Sell-Ence, on methods to close a variety of sales; and many more. “Mercury Mambo is thrilled to be a part of the inaugural JIS Education Series,” said Arreaga in a press release. “We believe the focused learning sessions will allow attendees to gain valuable business-building insights that can lead to exponential growth.”

“This event has always been different than other shows in the industry at this time of year,” said JIS industry vice president Jordan Tuchband, who has been with the show for more than 16 years. “It was originally established around the needs of Latin American buyers for jewelry products before the important Mother’s Day holiday. It has since evolved into an exciting event that brings customers together who prefer doing business in a more intimate setting. With the ownership change last summer, attendees and exhibitors will continue to benefit from the expansive investments Reed Exhibitions is making in the JIS brand.”

Riding its wave of success since being acquired by Reed Exhibitions in summer 2015—a 20 percent increase in attendance was seen over JIS Miami January and October—the 2016 April show is on track to see a record number of attendees. The JIS Education Series comes as yet another feature to add to the growing list of amenities at JIS, including the JIS Platinum Club for the elite jewelry buying community, upgraded lounges with complimentary Wi-Fi, relaxation areas, networking happy hours, and more.
