Robert “Bob” G. DuBose, 90, owner of DuBose Jewelers in Vero Beach, Fla. and a local city councilman, died May 3 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, according to an obituary on Legacy.com.
DuBose served in the U.S. Navy as well as the U.S. Navy Reserve. According to a store history printed in local newspaper TC Palm, in 1949, DuBose joined his father Oscar in the family business, J.C. DuBose and Sons is still operating and family-owned. In 2012 it celebrated its 100th anniversary. Eventually, Bob retired, but his obituary notes that he kept working well into his “retirement.”
