Jewelry designer Pamela Love has teamed up with leather goods brand Hobo on a collection of leather bags accented with semi-precious stones.
The 50-piece limited-edition collection, which debuted today on hobobags.com, comprises leather handbags with one-of-a-kind bar piercings tipped with semi-precious stones: lapis, turquoise, onyx, tiger’s eye, and malachite.
At the time of this writing (10:45 a.m.), many of the bags in the collection had sold out—or come close to it.
The capsule collection marks the third installment of Hobo’s Artisan Series, which celebrates artisans who prioritize hand-craftsmanship, a hat-tip to Hobo’s history as a small-batch artisanal company.
Love launched her namesake collection in 2007 making jewelry pieces by hand in her kitchen. Hobo’s owner, Koren Ray, took the reigns of the leather goods company her mother founded, Washington, D.C.–based Georgetown Leather, in 2006.

Ray was “raised on the road in a VW bus, and spending time under the craft bench as her mother worked in her iconic shop,” according to the statement.
Hobo previously collaborated with tattoo artist Virginia Elwood of Brooklyn’s Saved Tattoo and English-American painter and actress (of Girls fame) Jemima Kirke, on bags for the series.
The Pamela Love collection was inspired by midcentury modernist jewelry from Mexico and Copenhagen, along with “the piercing culture of the ’80s and ’90s.”
Love said in the statement, “I was attracted to the Hobo brand and their story. It’s been a family business for generations. Their attention to quality and craftsmanship resonates with me and with what I do.”
A portion of proceeds from the Hobo x Pamela Love collection, which is priced from $218 to $318, benefits the BARC organization, a Brooklyn-based animal shelter and charity Love chose to support.
