An ode to the asymmetrical, the mismatched, and the organic
I have a thing for the imperfect. I gravitate toward things that are artfully messy, a little off-center, quirky. I see it as a form of rebellion. No, I don’t have to try to be perfect, thank you very much. And neither, it seems, do these jewels. No, those lines aren’t perfectly straight, and no, that pattern doesn’t have a rhyme or reason. Those shapes, they’re asymmetrical, and those colors, they’re mismatched. On purpose. Those diamonds are uncut, the edges are rough. Absent of spit and polish, present with personality—but make no mistake: These jewels are the result of masterful, careful work. They’re a lot like those people who’ve attained the thrown-together look, which actually took a lot of time and effort to achieve. Because, really, not appearing too perfect is the new perfect. Like these jewels, that embrace the quirks or imperfections—human or nature-made—and radiate a beauty beyond the norm. From the raw and organic to the playful and differently shaped, these jewels are practically perfect in every way.
