The e-tail giant is shuttering the 5-year-old site at the end of May
Another flash site has become a flash in the pan.
Amazon is shutting down its entry in the flash sales derby—MyHabit.com—at the end of May, the company said, confirming a report in WWD. In addition to clothes, the site sold fine jewelry and watches.
“Fashion is one of Amazon’s fastest growing categories,” said a statement sent by a spokesperson. “As we continue to increase our breadth of selection and improve the customer experience on Amazon.com, we have decided to simplify our offering and will be closing MyHabit at the end of May.”
The site debuted in May 2011. In September 2012, Amazon closed another fashion site, Endless.
As its statement noted, the site isn’t giving up on fashion—it has launched a steaming daily fashion show and, reportedly, its own private label lines.
