Birks Group Inc. announced an agreement to open five Birks stores at Ivanhoé Cambridge shopping centers in Canada.
The agreement calls for two new Birks stores in centers in Oshawa, Ontario, and Surrey, British Columbia. Three Birks stores in Ottawa, Edmonton, and Quebec City have had their leases renewed and will be moved to newly renovated spaces.
The new stores are designed around a monobrand concept which will offer only Birks Collection products, and their design is inspired by the concept Birks opened at Yorkdale Shopping Center in suburban Toronto (pictured).
“The choice of the monobrand format is in line with our goal of continuing to grow the Birks brand,” said Jean-Christophe Bédos, Birks president and CEO in a statement.
