It’s the ninth edition
The American Society of Appraisers is releasing the ninth edition of its Jewelry Appraisal Handbook, with new data on chain styles, links for research, and retail markups.
The latest edition also includes a summary of the most important advanced gemological laboratory instruments currently in use. This material was developed for ASA by the Gemological Institute of America’s Dr. James Shigley and Al Gilbertson.
The book will also help jewelry store personnel to categorize and describe gems and jewelry for detailed statements of sale and other uses. The Handbook was founded by the late Kirk Root, GG, ASA. Proceeds go to benefit the master gemologist appraiser program and other work of ASA’s gems and jewelry discipline.
