L.A. JEWELRY SHOW TO BE HELD IN AUGUST
The California Jewelers Association will present the L.A. Jewelry Show Aug. 19-21 in the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The Los Angeles show is not affected by CJA’s recent sale of its spring Pacific Jewelry Show to the Blenheim Group USA (see JCK, March 1995, p. 18). “To eliminate any confusion, we want to emphatically assure all our exhibitors and buyers that the L.A. Show will continue to exist under the current CJA/PJS show management, which we consider to be among the finest in the industry,” says CJA President John Spadea.
BLENHEIM ANNOUNCES DISPLAY AWARD WINNERS
Raymond Weil Geneve, New York, N.Y., won the Best of Show award in the Blenheim Jewelry Display Award contest at the winter JA International Jewelry Show, held Feb. 4-7 in New York City.
Other winners: Life Watches, Lynd-hurst, N.J., Best Single Booth; Vista International, Jericho, N.Y., Best Double Booth; Pulsar Time, Mahwah, N.J., Best Multi Booth; and Cassetti Maria Grazia, Florence, Italy, Best Walk Through.

NEW TRADE SHOW TO DEBUT IN ISRAEL
Israel The Source, a new international diamond and jewelry trade fair, will be held in Tel Aviv Jan. 7-10, 1996.
The fair, produced by the Miller Freeman Jewelry Group, has the support of the Israel Diamond Institute, the Jewelry Center of the Israel Export Institute and the Israel Jewelry Manufacturers Association.
Miller Freeman will provide marketing support through its publications, which include National Jeweler, Mazal U’Bracha, Adi ‘Or and Jewellery News Asia magazines and the Diamond Intelligence Briefs newsletter.
“We believe the January timing is perfect for the industry’s spring merchandise buying needs, and it allows buyers and exhibitors to come out of the cold and enjoy the many tourist wonders that Israel has to offer,” says Howard Hauben, group publisher of the Miller Freeman Jewelry Group.

INTERNATIONAL DESIGN GROUP TO EXHIBIT AT JCK SHOW
Aspects, an internationally renowned jewelry design group, will make its first U.S. trade appearance at the JCK International Jewelry Show in Las Vegas June 9-12.
The group has been exhibiting in the Design Halle at the Basel Fair for 10 years. Members showing in Las Vegas are John Blackwood of Canada; Bernd Munsteiner, Wilhem Buchert, Dr. Freiesleben, Christina Westcott, Michael Zobel and Langes/ Ufer, all of Germany; Suzanne Negre of France; Karl-Heinz Reister of Italy; Fanourakis of Greece; and Michael Good of Michael Good Designs, Rockport, Me.

MIAMI SHOW TO FEATURE ITALIAN JEWELRY, GIFTWARE
Italian jewelry and giftware will be in the spotlight at Gold Italia, a new show scheduled for May 22-25 in the Miami Convention Center, Miami, Fla.
The event is coordinated by Milano Overseas Exhibitions and the City of Miami’s International Trade Board. Organizers expect about 100 exhibitors. They have launched a marketing campaign to attract retail buyers from throughout the Southeast. The show will be open to the trade for the first three days and to the public the final day.

VISUAL MARKETING & STORE DESIGN SHOW SET
The Visual Marketing & Store Design Show will be held May 20-23 in the Jacob Javits Convention Center and local showrooms in New York City.
The twice-yearly event showcases visual merchandising, store planning, shop fitting, store fixturing, point of purchase, display and design merchandise.
The Planning and Visual Education Partnership will sponsor a seminar by lighting designer Theo Kondos at 8:30 a.m. May 22. The fees for this and other PAVE seminars during the show are $75 for both days, $50 for one day and $10 per day for students with valid identification.

The Guangzhou International Jewelry Fair will be held June 15-18 in Guangzhou, China.
