Wendy Graham was named director of course development at the Gemological Institute of America. She succeeds John Hummel, who retired. Graham is a specialist in curriculum development and theories
of learning. She holds a doctorate in program evaluation from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. Graham hopes to expand GIA’s curriculum on CD-ROM and the Internet as part of the on-going course review program.
Joan Thompson Sullivan, a sales representative for Frederick Goldman Inc., New York, N.Y., was named Salesperson of the Year at the 52nd annual convention of the Jewelers of Louisiana Inc. Sullivan has been associated with Frederick Goldman Inc. since January and is a member of the Women’s Jewelry Association and the 24 Karat Club Southwest.
Carolyn Brodie-Gelles was named managing director of communications for the retail division of Harry Winston Inc., New York, N.Y. Former supervisor of the Diamond Information Center at J. Walter Thompson Co., she now directs marketing, advertising, promotion and public relations for Harry Winston’s retail division.
