The Texas Jewelers Association’s 2001 annual convention will be held April 21-23 in New Braunfels, Texas, at the T Bar M Ranch. Both the Gemological Institute of America and Jewelers of America will be offering educational programs.
GIA-sponsored programs include “Master the Essentials,” a two-hour interactive seminar aimed at retail jewelry sales associates and managers; “Emeralds: Fact, Fantasy & Fillers,” a seminar that enables jewelers to help their customers make informed buying decisions; and “Hot Diamond Topics: Synthetic Diamonds, Synthetic Moissanite, and HPHT-treated Diamonds,” which includes GIA’s latest research on identification.
JA-sponsored education includes “Train Without Pain: How to Create an In-Store Training Program that Runs Itself.” This seminar, built around JA’s “Learning Center,” shows jewelers how to establish a storewide training program using the training resources a jeweler already owns.
