Tivol Jewelers, Kansas City, Mo., hosted the “Milestone for Memories” black tie platinum gala, raising more than $200,000 for the National Alzheimer’s Association and the Mollie Tivol Alzheimer’s Family Resource Center. The retailer partnered with Platinum Guild International and Town & Country magazine to make the night of dinner, dancing, and donations a success.
Guests, who numbered more than 900, included Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, daughter of Hollywood icon Rita Hayworth and spokesperson for the National Alzheimer’s Association; fashion designer Pamela Dennis; and 12 of the country’s most recognized jewelry designers. One highlight of the evening was a silent auction of platinum pieces donated by renowned jewelry designers, including Michael Bondanza, Michael B., Rudolf Erdel, and Scott Kay.
On display for the first time ever in the United States was the Lazare diamond and platinum dress, which is encrusted with 2,010 Lazare diamonds set in 31 lines of fine platinum chains. The dress, which totals 300 cts., was designed by Pamela Dennis exclusively for Lazare Diamonds and is valued at $1 million.
