Luigi Macaluso, president and general manager of Girard-Perregaux and the Sowind Group, has been re-elected to a three-year term as chairman of the Interprofessional Association of Fine Luxury Watchmaking (AIHH). The election took place during AIHH’s annual meeting this summer in Reims, France.

The international association is composed of some of the world’s most prestigious watch brands and about 200 of its leading jeweler/watchmakers. AIHH members generate almost 40% of the annual global turnover in luxury watches.

AIHH, said Macaluso, is “a unique organization … founded to promote worldwide the quality of the product and services … associated with ‘haute horlogerie.’ “

At that same meeting, AIHH added four new watch companies as members: Corum, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Zenith. They join Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Ebel, Girard-Perregaux, Piaget, and Vacheron Constantin, bringing the number of AIHH’s member brands to 11.
