Roger Marks, president of Rogers Jewelry Co., Modesto, Calif., will be the recipient of the Robert B. Westover Award, presented by the California Jewelers Association in recognition for his many years of service to the jewelry industry. The award will be presented on Oct. 14 during the CJA Showcase 2001 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Marks served as CJA president in 1981, and in 1989 he was elected president of Jewelers of America for a two-year term. He has been involved in the jewelry industry since 1955, when he joined the firm founded by his father. The company now operates 10 jewelry stores in the San Joaquin Valley. Marks’ son Robert also is involved in the business, and recently was elected to the CJA board of directors.
The Westover Award was created by the CJA to honor the organization’s longtime executive vice president and honorary lifetime CJA director. It is given to an individual who has made major contributions to the industry over a period of many years.
