An exhibition of Tiffany & Co. jewelry being organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, is slated to premiere in September 2005. Celebrating more than 150 years of jewelry from America’s best-known design house, the exhibition will be on display in the museum’s Gund Gallery through December 2005.

The exhibition will be arranged in themes that highlight the trends and styles of Tiffany designs and will be enhanced by paintings, photographs, costumes, and historic ornaments from the museum’s collection of art. Highlights will include Tiffany’s world-famous gemstones, lustrous enameled orchids, necklaces inspired by the exotic lands of Japan and India, and adornments drawn from the American experience. Also featured will be re-creations of Tiffany’s exhibits at international expositions as well as a display devoted to the company’s jewelry in the modernist style. Finally, the exhibition will explore the synergy between jewelry and fashion with gowns from the museum’s collection adorned with Tiffany jewels from the High Victorian, Gilded, and Art Deco ages and the mid-20th century.
