Philip F. Leach, chairman emeritus of the Leach & Garner Company, died June 19. He was 87.
In addition to successfully advancing the family business, which his father Edwin Leach co-founded in 1899, Philip Leach is credited with an extensive list of personal and business accomplishments. He and his wife, Virginia Newberry Leach, who passed away 10 years ago, raised five children, including a son, Ted Leach, the current company president, and four daughters: Robin Moody of Glendale, Calif.; Suzanne Charity of New York City; Christina Clark of Lyme, N.H.; and Lucinda A. Leach of Takoma Park, Md. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Leach family has suggested that any donations made in Philip Leach’s honor go toward either of his favorite charities: The Philip Leach Art Education Fund, Attleboro Art Museum, 86 Park St., Attleboro, MA 02703; or Lake Morey Foundation, P.O. Box 234, Fairlee, VT 05045.
