The De Beers Group recently made a contribution of $450,000 to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The donation, which will be disbursed to GIA in increments of $150,000 over the next three years, will help fund diamond research and development activities at the institute.

In recognition of the gift, the De Beers Group was honored at GIA’s 2003 League of Honor Dinner in October. The event recognizes companies and individuals who have donated $100,000 or more to GIA.
